St. Luke's is also an active supporter of the following global charitable organizations:

  • Tanzania AIDS Orphans Project (Carpenter’s Kids) - for $70 per child, per year, we partner with a parish in Africa to provide school, breakfast, uniforms and books for some of the more than 2.5 million AIDS orphans in Tanzania children who are missing at least one parent struck down by the disease.
  • The International Family AIDS Program - founded by a St. Luke’s parishioner, Dr. Stephen Nicholas, the IFAP applies the lessons learned at Harlem Hospital and in the U.S., where pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated over the past 20 years. IFAP currently provides direct care and treatment for over 300 HIV-infected children, mothers and fathers in a Center of Excellence in the Dominican Republic, a model of AIDS care for the Caribbean.
